At 20:31 hours Gilford Fire-Rescue was toned to a building fire during an already busy evening. Units responded and saw smoke from several streets away.
Engine 4 and Lt Mercuri arrived on scene and confirmed a building fire venting through a window at the Bravo / Charlie corner. Crews requested a 1st alarm and began stretching a line to the front door.
At this time Chief Beland arrived and assumed command. Additional Gilford, Laconia, and Belmont units arrived. The fire was knocked down quickley, no firefighters were injured, and all occupants made it out safely.
