During the week of August 20th, 2007 Gilford Fire Rescue hosted joint Auto Extrication Training with the Laconia Fire Department.  Each Shift and the Call Company participated in the 3+ hour intensive training classes.  Gilford Firefighter's Brian Blanchette and Chuck Campbell conducted the drills teaching us important information about new airbags, alloy metals, hybrid vehicle technology, and potential hazards encountered during vehicle extrications.  Despite the 90 degree heat wave, we destroyed a total of 4 vehicles, and had a blast.  Thanks to Al's Towing for vehicle donations and transport.  Thanks to Pat McGonagle for his generosity in letting us use the Tennis Courts of NH parking lot!  Check out some training photos in the Photo Gallery!
